Anthrax Toxin

Anthrax is a household word, in spite of the fact that anthrax is not a common disease. Its not a common disease in humans, it is usually contracted by infected animals or products. But recently, anthrax has gained the possiblity to be a major threat through bioterrorism. It is an effective weapon because it forms sturdy spores that may be stored for years, that rapidly lead to lethal infections when inhaled.
Anthrax is caused by a large bacterium. Once its spores lodge in the skin or in the lungs, it rapidly begins growth and produces a deadly three-part toxin. One part of the toxin is a delivery mechanism that seeks out cells; another part is a toxic enzyme that rapidly kills the cell. Part of the toxin is a delivery mechanism that seeks out cells; another part is a toxic enzyme that rapidly kills the cell. In anthrax toxin, there is one delivery molecule, termed "protective antigen" because of its use in anthrax vaccines. It delivers the other two parts, edema factor and lethal factor, which are the toxic components that attack cells. The delivery component specifically seeks out cell surfaces and inserts the toxic component where it can do the most damage. The toxic component is far more effective than poisons like cyanide and arsenic. Those poisons attack one-on-one, with a single cyanide molecule poisoning a single protein molecule.
But toxic enzymes are compact cell-killing machines.

The Perfect Science Class

We have to say the dream science class would involve LOTS of labs and hands on activities, fun review games ,and AWESOME sufer dude movies with TOM HANKS!!!! Or educational movies with Bill Nye the Science Guy or Tim and Moby. Having computar assignments, like this blog we are doing now, would make the class fun and enjoyable and not lame and boring. Having parties for holidays, birthdays, or good grades would be fun..although the students would be responsible for bringing food, drinks, plates, ect. Now that we are in high school we get no field trips or breaks from work because we are to "grown up and need to work harder" but we still find it fun to get out of the same boring routine of school plus some of us work extremely hard and get no break or rewards, field trips would make that happen! Also it would motivate students to academically work harder for such rewards as these. HOMEOWRK!! That is all we have!! We should really cut down on the amount or homework because if we get a homework assignments from every class that is five things we have to do after school. Which we will not finish in time anyway. In addition to this, we get home quite late, most people do sports or extracuricular activities and most of us do not arrive back at our house until around 4 because of the bus routes and the fact that we live in a very rural town. Scratch that I want awesome adventure dude movies with Rosie O'Donald!!!!! (Rosie insipired us to write this)
